Born Modern
In 2014 I participated in a creative residency at 72andSunny called 72U. It was our job to make awesome stuff for three months. Our final project was titled “Born Modern” and investigated the theme of growing up in a digital age.
With the help of street artist and graphic Designer John Carr we designed, and painted two giant murals on the side of the CNN building in Hollywood across from the iconic Amoeba records.
Being the 2nd registered piece after the City of Los Angeles officially lifted its “Street Art Embargo” our creations were guaranteed to be preserved for at least 2 years. After 4 years they are still part of the community and greet thousands of people everyday.
To celebrate our successes (and failures) during our residency we invited artist to create and show pieces that fit with our Born Modern theme in a one night only pop up gallery party in West LA.
